Day 7

Fri. Jul. 15, 2011: Calgary (2:50am)

Still late, but we’re getting better.

A-OK day. The Rodeo. Walk around the Stampede. We couldn’t find the deep-fried butter and Mars bars, but Jer got a cowboy hat, so we still call it a successful outing.

The car: thank goodness, it was just dirt in the wheels. Midas cleaned it and said “Have a nice trip! No charge!!”
WOW…For once, the Fates are smiling on us. There are good folk in this province.

Dinner was tasty. Ahi Tuna Tacos for me at Metropolitan Grill on Stephen Ave Walk. Jer had the real Alberta Beef steak for dinner. He was content. I do not eat beef, but had to have a bite. When in Rome…
Nightcap: drinking Timmy’s coffee, while cruising by Eau Claire Market and Olympic Park up on the hill, overlooking the city at 11pm.

Tomorrow, Drumheller and Dinosaurs.

We’re sun-weary and beat. I’m burnt and covered with a heat rash. I’m still doing just fine…And excited for what comes next.
Hopefully, that includes sleep, and now that he’s officially on vacation (aka done work) = more sleep. Yay.
