Sun. Jul. 10, 2011: Sudbury ~ Thunder Bay, ON (Mon at 4:05ish am)
10.07.2011 - 10.07.2011
And so it appears that our vacation will start on Tues. morning when we wake up in Winnipeg. It’s after 4am and we’re both still working.
We finally arrived in Thunder Bay at 12:45am.
Definitely a long day…But it was exhilarating to reach Wawa, and continue going Northwest into new territory, where I’ve never been.
Lake Superior was our steady companion and we saw her from many angles, cast in different lights as the sun traveled across the sky.
We skipped rocks at Lake Superior Provincial Park, and tried to steal honey from Winnie’s jar at White River.
After sunset, the Sleeping Giant plucked low clouds out of the sky over the bay, gathered them together, wrapped himself up as if in a fluffy duvet, and resumed his rest. It looked surreal. Our pictures don’t do justice.
We are both so bloody exhausted.
Words can’t express how tired and stressed we are.
And then we were delayed by dense fog. This made us tense and pushed our limit in moose territory. At least very few other people were dumb enough to drive in that area that late, so there were few cars, which could’ve been more hazardous.
1 deer and 1 fox and many dead porcupine. 18 hours and no Moose. Wild!
Sleep in minutes. Hopefully it’s long enough.
